 Homework

🎯 Spelling
Complete the activities linked to this week's spelling rule. We have a spelling check each Friday. A new spelling rule will be taught on a Friday, and your Spelling Shed games will be updated with the new rule.

⏱️ Maths skills
Practise your times tables as much as possible using Times Tables Rock Stars. The garage is where you level-up and earn the most coins per answer! Use the studio to set your 'rock status'.

If you are still a little unsure of your times tables, don't panic! We have not explored multiplication to this level yet, so you can continue practising your place value, addition and subtraction on Numbots.

📚 Reading
Aim to read your banded reading book with an adult for at least 10 minutes a day. Bring in your book at least once a week for it to be changed. Remember to enjoy some of your own books as well!

Here is a list of the Year 1 & 2 Common Exception Words list. Children are expected to be able to spell these words by the end of Year 2. You can start practising some of them at home, maybe a few words a week.

Maths game recommendation

The children can use this game to improve their quick maths facts. Why not have a go at home?

We recommend having a go at the number bonds levels (except the decimal ones), doubles to 50, halves from 10 to 20, times tables (2s, 5s, 10s and 3s) and division facts (÷2, ÷5, ÷10).
